PIGPBS Alumni Association

The Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies Alumni Association (PIGPBS Alumni Association) got off the ground in 2005.

Name
The name of this organization shall be Alumni Association of PGIPBS, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Association’. The acronym PGIPBS stands for the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the Kelaniya University.

Address
Registered address of the Association shall be the address of Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the Kelaniya University.

Mission
To work for the development of Buddhist and Pali Studies and education in Sri Lanka.

It will carry out its mission in the following manner: by assisting the Alumni to improve their knowledge and skills by providing a forum for discussion, publication of papers and conducting of lectures and similar scholarly activities. It will also act as a opinion of a body of scholars in matters falling within its purview. Finally, it will assist in the development of the Institute in various way.

The membership of the Association is open to all those who have completed a post-graduate programme (degree or diploma) of the Institute. The membership now stands around and we are aware that over 3000 have graduated from the Institute since its inception 30 years ago. We invite all those who have not yet joined to please immediately apply for membership. Please send in your application to the Secretary of Alumni Association at the of the PGIPBS.
