Library Resources

Buddhist Scriptures

The library possesses printed versions of the TRIPITAKA in five languages, namely, Pali, Sinhala, English, Burmese and Deva Nagiri.  The library also contains the Taisho edition of Chainese Agamas and the Vietnamese translation of the Vinayapitaka.

Besides these printed editions an e-copy of the Pali Tripitaka (Pali Text Society edition) is also available.

Monographs

The Library tries to have as many works as possible in Buddhist Studies, both in Sinhala and English media. In addition to these works dealing with main areas of Buddhist Studies a particular effort is being made to have representative collection on such areas as, gender studies, ecology, socially engaged Buddhism and Sri Lanka Studies.

Theses

Theses submitted to the Institute by M.Phil and Ph.D. research scholars are available in the library. There is also an index of the titles of the essays submitted by M.A. and Diploma Students as a partial fulfillment of the Postgraduate Diploma and M.A. examinations.
